Born on November 7, 1913, in Milan, Italy, Lacca developed a passion for design from an early age. He studied at the prestigious Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he honed his skills and gained a deep understanding of art and craftsmanship. Lacca's career began in the 1930s when he started working as an apprentice for renowned furniture designer Gio Ponti. Under Ponti's guidance, Lacca learned the intricacies of furniture design and developed an appreciation for modernist aesthetics.
