Richard Rumi (b.1960) is a Canadian Contemporary artist known for employing a thick impasto technique and strong brushstrokes in abstract expressionist style. Rumi articulates space on a monumental scale by fragmentation of form, creating an expansive force by decelerating the motion into smaller variegated shapes and zones of intense colors. Richard Rumi's work has been offered at auction multiple times, and is represented internationally in both private and corporate collections.
