About Dorothy Draper

Dorothy Draper (November 22, 1889 – March 11, 1969) was an influential American interior designer and writer, known for her bold and theatrical style in the field of decorative arts. She is widely regarded as one of the most prominent figures in the history of American interior design.

Born in Tuxedo Park, New York, Draper grew up in a privileged environment and was exposed to the world of design and aesthetics from a young age. She attended the prestigious Miss Hall's School in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where she developed a keen interest in art and design. Following her graduation, Draper studied at the New York School of Interior Design, which further honed her skills and provided a solid foundation for her future career.
