About John Salterini

John Salterini (1900-1988) was a prominent American furniture and decorative arts designer. Born in Italy in 1900, Salterini immigrated to the United States at a young age and settled in New York City.

Salterini's interest in art and design was evident from an early age, and he pursued formal training in the field. He attended the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he honed his skills in metalworking and sculpture. This foundation would later prove instrumental in his career as a furniture designer.

In the 1920s, Salterini established his own design studio in New York City, where he began creating unique and innovative furniture pieces. He drew inspiration from both traditional and modern design styles, blending elements of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Mid-Century
