About Carl Malmsten

Carl Malmsten (1888-1972) was a renowned Swedish furniture designer and architect. He is considered one of the most influential figures in the field of Swedish furniture and decorative arts.

Born on May 7, 1888, in Stockholm, Sweden, Malmsten showed an early interest in craftsmanship and design. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1911. Malmsten then embarked on a journey to further his knowledge and skills by traveling extensively throughout Europe, studying various design styles and techniques.

In 1919, Malmsten established his own furniture workshop in Stockholm, which soon gained recognition for its high-quality craftsmanship and innovative designs. His creations were characterized by a harmonious blend of traditional Swedish
