About Alberto & Deigo Giacometti

Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) and Diego Giacometti (1902-1985) were Swiss-born brothers who made significant contributions to the field of furniture and decorative arts.

Alberto Giacometti, born on October 10, 1901, in Borgonovo, Switzerland, was primarily known as a sculptor and painter. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva and later moved to Paris in 1922 to pursue his artistic career. Alberto's sculptures were characterized by their elongated and slender forms, often depicting human figures in a state of existential angst. His work explored themes of isolation, alienation, and the human condition.

In addition to his sculptural practice, Alberto Giacometti also delved into the realm of furniture design. His furniture pieces were influenced by
