About T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings

T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings (1905-1976) was a renowned furniture and decorative arts designer of the mid-20th century. Born Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings on March 17, 1905, in London, England, he later became known for his significant contributions to the field of modern design.

Robsjohn-Gibbings initially pursued a career in architecture, studying at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. However, his passion for furniture and interior design soon led him to shift his focus. In the early 1930s, he relocated to New York City, where he began working as an interior designer and decorator.

During his career, Robsjohn-Gibbings developed a unique design aesthetic characterized by clean lines, simplicity, and a focus on natural materials. He drew
