About Curtis Jere

Curtis Jere is the pseudonym of the collaborative duo Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, who were renowned American designers and artists known for their innovative works in the field of furniture and decorative arts. Freiler and Fels joined forces in the mid-20th century and created a wide range of artistic pieces that seamlessly blended sculpture, metalwork, and functional design.

Curtis Freiler was born in 1910 in Pennsylvania, while Jerry Fels was born in 1917 in Ohio. The two artists first crossed paths in the 1950s when they were both working at the same advertising agency in New York City. Sharing a common passion for art and design, they soon discovered their mutual interest in creating unique and unconventional pieces that challenged traditional notions of furniture and
