Angelo Mangiarotti (February 26, 1921 – June 1, 2012) was an Italian architect, industrial designer, and furniture designer. He was born in Milan, Italy. Mangiarotti studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated in 1948. He later pursued a career in architecture and design, establishing his own studio in Milan in 1953. Throughout his career, Mangiarotti gained recognition for his innovative approach to design and his ability to seamlessly blend functionality with aesthetics. He was known for his modernist designs that emphasized clean lines, simplicity, and practicality. Mangiarotti's notable works include the Eros marble table (1971), the Giogali chandelier (1967), and the Incas coffee table (1970). His designs have been exhibited in renowned museums and galleries worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Mangiarotti's contributions to the field of design were widely recognized, and he received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Compasso d'Oro, one of the most prestigious design awards in Italy. Angelo Mangiarotti passed away on June 1, 2012, leaving behind a rich legacy of design excellence and innovation.
