Paul Mayen (1928-2000) was a renowned American industrial designer and architect, best known for his significant contributions to the field of furniture and decorative arts. Born on November 23, 1928, in Vienna, Austria, Mayen's early life was marked by the turmoil of World War II. He eventually emigrated to the United States in 1940, where he would establish himself as a prominent figure in the design world.

Mayen's career began to flourish in the 1950s when he joined the esteemed design firm, Raymond Loewy Associates.
