About Peter Hvidt

Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) was a Danish furniture and decorative arts designer who made significant contributions to the field of modern Scandinavian design. He is best known for his innovative and functional furniture designs, which combined clean lines, organic forms, and the use of new materials.

Born on September 17, 1916, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Hvidt studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen, where he developed a deep understanding of traditional craftsmanship and design principles. After completing his education, he began his career as a furniture designer in the 1940s.

In collaboration with his partner, Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen, Hvidt established the Hvidt & Mølgaard design studio in 1944. Together, they created a wide range of furniture pieces
