In 1509, del Sarto became a member of the Florentine painters' guild, which further established his reputation as a skilled artist. His works were heavily influenced by the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael, but del Sarto developed his own unique style characterized by his exceptional use of color and light. Throughout his career, del Sarto received numerous commissions from wealthy patrons, including the powerful Medici family. His works often depicted religious subjects, and he was known for his ability to capture the emotional depth and humanistic qualities of his subjects. One of del Sarto's most famous works is the "Madonna of the Harpies," which showcases his mastery of composition and his ability to create a sense of harmony and balance in his paintings. Another notable work is the "Last Supper," which is considered one of the finest representations of this biblical event. Despite his immense talent, del Sarto faced personal and professional challenges throughout his life. He struggled with financial difficulties and had a tumultuous relationship with his wife, Lucrezia. However, his artistic abilities remained highly esteemed, and he continued to receive commissions until his death. Andrea del Sarto passed away on January 22, 1531, in Florence, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional artistic skill and innovation. His works continue to be admired and studied by art enthusiasts and scholars worldwide, cementing his place as one of the great masters of the Renaissance period.
